Trademark Infringement and Registration

Trademark registration (domestic and international) and licensing: LT Pacific Law Group is experienced in assisting clients in registering trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).  We have also registered international trademarks via the Madrid Protocol.  Although it is possible to register your own trademark, LT Pacific Law Group has the experience and skill to communicate with the USPTO to make sure the trademark registration process goes smoothly and that the trademark is protected against future infringement.

We have also represented clients in TTAB (Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) proceedings to oppose or cancel a trademark registration.

LT Pacific Law Group is also experienced in preparing and negotiating trademark licensing agreements.

Trademark infringement cases: We represent both Plaintiffs and Defendants in trademark disputes.  Some examples of our past cases include matters involving trademarks in shoes, computer electronics, car wax, plant food, DVD’s, and internet domain names.

We have litigated trademark and other intellectual property cases in federal courts in numerous states, including Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and Alabama.

We can also serve as local counsel for cases in the United States District Court, Central District of California, the Los Angeles Superior Court, and other courts in California.

Counterfeit and Gray Market Goods: Counterfeit goods are goods that are different than authentic goods.  Gray market (also known as grey market) goods are goods that look the same as authentic goods but are sold in an unauthorized manner (i.e. some goods are only authorized to be sold in foreign markets).  We have extensive experience in representing companies accused of selling or distributing counterfeit and gray market goods.  Update: please see our recent blog post on the recent US Supreme Court decision on gray market goods.
